WhiteDate, a white-supremacist dating platform founded in 2017 by German activist Christiane Horn, operated alongside WhiteChild, a service connecting white-supremacist sperm and egg donors, and WhiteDeal, a whites-only freelancing site. In December 2025, pseudonymous hacker Martha Root shut down all three services during the Chaos Communication Congress in Hamburg and breached WhiteDate’s user database. Root published profiles containing timestamps and GPS coordinates on okstupid.lol and said she used an AI chatbot to extract as much information as possible from users before the shutdown. Security consultant Troy Hunt subsequently added the leaked dataset to Have I Been Pwned?.
The disclosure exposed the privacy risks of a platform that reportedly had more than 6,500 users by December 2025, 86% of them men. Die Zeit identified German users linked to the Alternative for Germany, anti-abortion activism, and neo-Nazi networks; later reporting matched accounts to political figures and public officials in Britain, including councillor Gavin Beales and suspended Conservative councillor Lillith Osborn. CBC News reported in March 2026 that 200 leaked Canadian accounts had been matched to real people, including three Canadian Armed Forces members. WhiteDate’s administrator called the breach “cyberterrorism,” while the lasting consequences included public exposure of users’ identities and location data, with the source not documenting a criminal conviction or regulatory enforcement against Root or WhiteDate.
